A really practical, fun and meaningful way to teach capacity. I carried this out for a lesson observations with 31 year 2 children and it was graded outstanding. The children were really engaged and learnt so much. The whole school enjoyed drinking all the different potions too! You can alter the amounts to suit the children you are teaching.

Resource An exciting way to get children measuring out different amounts. This was for my lower ability group as, in the main, it does not require children to read in between the scales on the measuring jug, but amounts can be changed for different abilities.
