Powerpoint This is a short unit (approx 2-3 50 minute periods) which aims to improve students ability to create effective characterisation in creative or personal pieces of writing. Pack contains a self-explanatory PowerPoint which you simply run through and it gives students examples of good practice and gives them tasks on how to improve characterisation. There is also a worksheet which gives pupils the opportunity to work independently and build their skills at characterisation.

Children write a modern-day Jungle Book story, Just So Stories diary entries, and tell outrageous lies, courtesy of conjunctions. The unit ends with children performing their own Just So Story in Kipling's style.
